How Empowered Streaming Helped SF Design Week Go Virtual

San Francisco Design Week logo

SF Design Week brings together thousands of design professionals for workshops, networking, and inspiration. Historically, they’ve hosted in-person events at design studios and gathering spaces throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, but due to COVID-19 that wasn’t possible this year. Event organizers were faced with a dilemma: cancel the conference or move the entire event online.

The team at SF Design Week decided that Crowdcast’s unique features and easy to use UI would make it the perfect solution to move their conference online and reach a global audience. But they needed a bit of help to get everything set up. So they hired Empowered Streaming, a Crowdcast Specialist, to produce the conference.

In the months leading up to the conference, Empowered Streaming helped the SF Design Week team:

SF Design Week’s first virtual event was a huge success! During the conference, Empowered Streaming worked tirelessly to manage over 100 individual events and solve any technical issues that arose with swift solutions. The move to Crowdcast allowed guests to attend multiple workshops and expanded their audience to a global network of designers. In addition, SF Design Week now has a library of content that they can use as marketing materials and clips for their next conference.

Stream aLIVE! Produced Amazon’s First Virtual Take Your Kids to Work Day

Over the last several years, thousands of children have visited Amazon’s offices during their annual Take Your Kids to Work Day. On these special days, kids participate in activities ranging from science fairs with drones and robots to classes on writing and coding.

Due to COVID-19, Amazon needed to move their entire program of over 100 classes online. They paired with the team at Stream aLIVE!, one of our vetted specialists, to execute the event.

Stream aLIVE! provided Amazon with end-to-end technical support and production management, including the technical setup and configuration of the Crowdcast software. They also trained Amazon’s teachers on how to use Crowdcast and staffed each channel with a technical support representative.

The kids loved the event. Amazon employees were able to choose workshops with their families like story time with favorite children’s book authors, science experiments to try at home, and how to make their own comic books. With support from Stream aLIVE!, Amazon’s transition to virtual live video events was a tremendous success.
